This is a fantistic diet! It teaches me what to eat and why. I understand the science involved and it works. This book promotes good eating not starvation or extreame measures. The first two weeks are the toughest but once you understand whay certain foods are better for you than others it will make living your live muh easier. You know what to shop for and what to avoid. The book doesent even ban certain foods all together, in fact once you get to the final stage you can enjoy many types of excelent food and by then you will have understood which ones to eat only in limited quantities. Thanks Again this book has improved my way of eating and I look forward to benifiting from it for many years to come!
book was in great condition and was delivered on time. content was as expected. very strict diet but the allowed food quantities were not given. i suggest getting all three books as i did because you need to read all three to understand this diet plan. my favorite and most useful book was the "good fats, good carbs guide". i am used to the weight watchers program with every item given a value so you know how much you are allowed. i will figure this plan out eventually but for now..still working on it. :)

South Beach Diet really does work. If you have tried other diets and failed be sure to try this one it WORKS!!!! It is a food plan that you can live with. There are 3 phases. Phase one is the hardest but make it through 1 and you are on your way to success. No counting calories or weighing food. Make sure you read the whole book before starting. I cannot rate it as excellent yet since I have not tried any of the recipes, but so far what Dr Agatston has written makes a lot of sense. I have skimmed through the meal and exercise plans, and they both seem easy to follow. The real test will be if I can stick with it. I would recommend the book to anyone who has ever wonder why so many Americans have become morbidly obese.
I was very skeptical when I heard about the South Beach diet since the word "diet" is in it. Statistics show that diets never work, and people eventually fall off the wagon. As I am reading this book, I learn it's not a diet, but a lifestle. I haven't finished it all, but I have learned so much about nutrition and what is bad for my body. The goal in the book is not to just lose weight, but to create a healthy diet.
