    Including many photos, this is a decent resource for South Beach dieters. This cookbook has rather expensive low carb recipes, and requires many spices, so having a spacious kitchen with a lot of storage will help. The recipes note which phase of the diet plan they are suited for and typically are designed for 4 servings. The foods are not extremely exotic, but one would need a large, well-stocked grocery store to purchase various types of Tofu and mushrooms, plus fennel, 1.5% low fat buttermilk, jicama, and arugula. The recipes are especially well-suited to sophisticated Southern urban customers. Relatively quick prep times include using a blender and food processor, and a wide variety of containers and cooking pans. There are many recipes using eggs, chicken breasts, fish/shellfish, ...

    Just what we needed! - trying new recipes - great information! Lists 2 weeks of Phase 1 and another 2 weeks of Phase 2. A month of meal planning already there! Also has list of quick dishes for two - Perfect! Plenty of pictures along with recipes.

    There is a large selection of dishes, salads and desserts to choose from. You will never be bored. My fav's right now are the black bean brownies (I know--they sound gross but they are not!) and the five cheese and spinach lasagna (I didn't even miss the meat or tomato sauce). I can't wait to try more dishes and continue 'on the beach'!! This is a must buy if you are on the SBD program!
